Anthropic releases Cowork: Claude Code for everyday tasks

Welcome back, Superhuman. Anthropic just dropped Cowork — a user-friendly version of its wildly-popular Claude Code that can handle long-running everyday tasks across documents, files, and the web. The internet is buzzing, with Anthropic's release post racking up 13M views so far.

1. Anthropic releases Cowork, bringing Claude Code-style agents to everyday tasks: The AI lab revealed a new mode for Claude that lets it read, edit, and take action in any folder on your computer — essentially turning Claude into an autonomous assistant for everyday tasks. In Cowork mode, Claude makes a plan, executes step-by-step, and checks in before taking significant actions. Cowork can also pair with Claude in Chrome for browser-based tasks. 2. Apple and Google confirm multi-year AI partnership: The two companies officially confirmed that Google's Gemini models will power Apple's AI features, including a long-awaited Siri overhaul. The deal is reportedly worth around $1 billion annually and comes after Apple evaluated competitors like OpenAI and Anthropic before settling on Google. A major Siri upgrade — delayed multiple times since its 2024 demo — is now expected this spring. Apple says it will maintain its privacy standards throughout the partnership. 

3. Google and retail giants unveil Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) for AI agent shopping: Google announced a new protocol — developed with Shopify, Etsy, Wayfair, Target, and Walmart — that lets AI agents handle the entire customer buying process, from product discovery to post-purchase support. The search giant will soon use UCP for product listings in AI mode search and Gemini, allowing shoppers to check out directly from U.S. retailers using Google Pay (with PayPal support coming).

AI dominates LinkedIn's list of fastest-growing jobs — these are the top roles for 2026.

The state of the job market. 56% of professionals plan to job-hunt this year, but 76% say they don't feel prepared, according to LinkedIn’s Jobs on the Rise 2026 report.
