Welcome back, Superhuman. Apple is reportedly finally giving Siri an upgrade — and it may come thanks to Google. The iPhone maker wants to build a new “answer engine” that turns Siri into a real ChatGPT rival, and may tap Gemini as the model to power the upgrade.

1. Gemini could power Siri’s big comeback: Apple is reportedly developing an AI “answer engine” that will position Siri as a rival to ChatGPT. The system is testing Google’s Gemini for web summarization, while Apple’s own models handle personal data to maintain privacy. Beyond voice, the new Siri will process text, images, and video with AI-powered summaries. The update could arrive with iOS 26.4 in March next year, and may also extend to Safari and Spotlight, underscoring Apple’s push into AI search as it plays catch-up with OpenAI and Perplexity.

2. OpenAI adds new features to ChatGPT: The startup is giving users on its free tier access to Projects, large file uploads, and new customization tools. The Projects feature lets users group chats by topic, set rules for how the AI responds, and upload up to 5 files. Meanwhile, Plus and Pro tiers get 25 and 40 files, respectively. Projects is now available for web and Android users as well, and will roll out to iOS “over the coming days”. In other OpenAI news, the company is also expanding a secondary share sale to $10.3B at a $500B valuation.

3. ScaleAI sues Mercor over alleged trade secret theft: The Meta-backed AI startup has filed a lawsuit against rival Mercor and former employee Eugene Ling, alleging theft of over 100 confidential files tied to a major client. The suit claims Ling tried to pitch Mercor to one of Scale’s biggest clients before resigning. Mercor co-founder Surya Midha admits Ling retained some documents but denied using them. The case comes as Meta's $14.3B stake drives customers like OpenAI towards competitors, including Mercor.

The "full stack builder" is changing how products get built. The platform is testing a new model where individual builders can take ideas from concept to production in hours instead of weeks. Cohen claims that by removing the handoffs between specialized teams, the new approach blends speed, scale, and quality.
