ChatGPT 5.4 is here, with built-in computer skills
ALSO: How to run your morning standup without a meeting

Welcome back, Superhuman. OpenAI dropped GPT-5.4, its most capable model yet that doubles down on professional work. It produces polished presentations, embeds directly into Excel, and is the first frontier model that can use the computer.
Today: Learn about ChatGPT-5.4, how to run your morning standup without a meeting, and get the latest prompts and trending social posts.
TODAY IN AI
1. OpenAI launches GPT-5.4 with built-in computer use and a full financial services suite: OpenAI just introduced GPT-5.4 — its most capable frontier model yet, available in two modes: Thinking for everyday work and Pro for the most complex tasks. The headline feature is native computer-use capabilities in Codex and the API, making it the first general-purpose OpenAI model that can click, type, and navigate software to complete multi-step workflows autonomously. The release also features ChatGPT for Excel in beta, embedding the model directly into spreadsheets. Thinking is rolling out now to Plus, Team, and Pro subscribers in ChatGPT, with Pro reserved for Pro and Enterprise users.
2. Luma AI launches creative agents that can turn a single brief into a full ad campaign: Luma AI just unveiled Luma Agents: AI that handle end-to-end creative work across text, image, video, and audio, powered by the company's new Uni-1 model. The agents can coordinate with external models like Google's Veo 3, ByteDance's Seedream, and ElevenLabs voice — then evaluate and refine their own outputs through iterative self-critique, much like coding agents do. Luma Agents is now available via API. Watch Luma Agents in action.
3. Meta’s Ray-Ban AI glasses under scrutiny for sending intimate footage to human reviewers: A joint investigation found that Meta's Ray-Ban AI glasses are routing highly sensitive user footage — including nudity, bathroom visits, and bank card details — to human data annotators employed by subcontractor Sama in Nairobi, Kenya. Reports show that the glasses often keep recording after being set down and that the face-blurring tools don’t always work as intended. At least one proposed class action lawsuit has already been filed, accusing Meta of false advertising and privacy violations.

FROM THE FRONTIER
Can blasting weeds with lasers really solve farming’s herbicide problem?

Made with Midjourney
Creating chemical-free fields. For decades, herbicides have been farming's necessary evil: crucial for removing weeds and maximizing yields, but harmful for ecosystems, waterways, and the food on our plates. One AI-powered machine offers a solution: swapping herbicide spray for lasers.
Meet the LaserWeeder G2. Carbon Robotics’ LaserWeeder G2 (which went viral this week) is a tractor-pulled machine armed with cameras, Nvidia GPUs, and high-powered lasers. It scans the field in front of it, instantly identifies weeds, and destroys them with alarming accuracy: 450,000 weeds per hour, sub-millimeter precision, and a 99% success rate. The best part: Weeds can't build resistance to lasers, like they do with herbicides.
Other AI breakthroughs in farming. Carbon Robotics isn't the only company rethinking weed control. Stout Industrial's Smart Cultivator uses AI-enhanced mechanical blades to physically cut weeds from the ground, removing the need for herbicides. Similarly, John Deere's See & Spray system uses mounted cameras and AI to detect weeds in real time and only spray where needed, cutting usage dramatically.
The future of farming. The AI industry isn’t known for being green, with its dramatic energy demands, water-guzzling data centers, and high carbon emissions. But use cases like laser-powered weed removal are a welcome counterpoint. If AI can help protect our ecosystems and food supply from harmful chemicals, the future starts to look a bit more favorable.
