Welcome back, Superhuman. A single photo can now do more than ever: A startup debuted a model that converts any image into a lifelike digital avatar, while OpenAI updated ChatGPT Images so it can turn any photo into a custom GIF.
Today: Goldman Sachs and Apple tighten AI usage, how to build an on-demand data analyst for your team with Grok Bot, and get the latest prompts and trending social posts.
TODAY IN AI
1. Atmanity releases a real-time video avatar model: Atmee v2 can turn a single image and 10-second voice clip into lifelike avatars you can talk to. The model took two years to build and comes from founder Chen-Ping Yu, who previously sold his AR startup to Google in 2022 before launching Atmanity. The startup claims its avatars are up to 50x faster and 10-100x cheaper to run than top video models, and can be built by pasting a single link into your preferred chatbot.
2. OpenAI upgrades its image model to create GIFs: ChatGPT Images 2.6 lets you bring any image to life with subtle motion, a useful update for animating a brand mascot, making product shots more eye-catching, or creating funny GIFs. The new model creates images 50% faster than before and is available now. In separate news, product lead Adam Fry said ChatGPT has reached roughly 20% of Google Search volume. If accurate, it would make the chatbot Google Search’s most serious challenger in decades.
3. Apple and Goldman Sachs restrict employee AI use for different reasons: Apple is reportedly reducing daily AI limits for some engineers in an effort to cut costs. Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs has limited the use of AI coding tools to its engineering teams, cutting off most traders and bankers over security concerns. It’s a notable reversal considering the bank’s CIO praised vibe coding by non-technical staff in July. Meta and Microsoft made similar moves in early October, steering employees toward in-house tools instead.

AI is making it easier than ever to build products. But that doesn't mean teams are building the right things.
Atlassian surveyed 1,000 product leaders for its State of Product 2027 report:
69% say decision-making hasn't gotten any faster.
76% of PMs worry their products won't succeed in the market.
So what's separating the teams that succeed from those that fall behind?
Atlassian's new guide shows how top teams operate, where the biggest gaps are, and what it means for your roadmap.

How to build an on-demand data analyst for your team with Grok Bot

Photo: @bot on X
Open Grok Bot > click ‘+’ > Create a Bot and create a dedicated Bot for company data analysis.
Open the Bot’s settings and connect the data sources, files, plugins, and credentials it needs to access your company data.
Add any company-specific context it should follow, such as metric definitions, table descriptions, reporting rules, and dashboard conventions.
Sample Prompt: “Act as our company data scientist. Investigate [metric/question] using our connected data. Query the relevant tables, check the result by [segment/time period/region], identify the most likely drivers, flag data-quality issues, and return a concise explanation with supporting charts and the exact metrics used.”
Run several real queries, review its analysis, and update the Bot’s instructions or add a ‘Skill’ for any recurring analysis workflow.
Open ‘Share’ > ‘Publish to Team’, then choose whether to publish the Bot with its existing context or start the shared version fresh.
Teammates can then open it from ‘Team Bots’ or use the connected Slack integration to ask data questions on demand.
FROM THE FRONTIER
Personal agents might be the subscription economy’s worst nightmare

Made with Midjourney
Agents are coming for the laziness tax. Many companies profit from customer inertia. Gyms often make canceling a nightmare, insurance providers auto-renew at higher rates, and streaming services subtly double prices through steady hikes you barely notice. Most people know they’re overpaying but just can’t be bothered to cancel every account. Agents can.
Tech leaders are pitching agents as money savers
Personal agents are quickly finding a niche: handling chores everyone wants done, but nobody has time to do.
Meta’s Alexandr Wang has highlighted many cases of Muse saving customers money by haggling bills, including this thread.
After a wave of updates, Grok Bot seems custom-built for canceling subscriptions. It can even call companies directly to cancel services, with a recent demo video showing it pushing back against a customer service rep.
Agents could even shake up banking. JPMorgan, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo hold about $1.6T in deposits paying no interest, while high-yield accounts offer up to 5%. Torsten Slok, Apollo’s chief economist, has already warned that we may see an agentic bank run if enough customers use their agent to optimize returns.
The list goes on: software tools, cell phone plans, free trials, credit cards, utilities. Agents will save customers time and money, but may upend entire industries along the way.
