OpenAI launches ChatGPT Images 2.0: The new state-of-the-art image model produces precise, immediately usable visuals — with OpenAI calling it a “step change” in instruction following, text rendering, and multi-aspect-ratio generation. 2. Tim Cook is stepping down as Apple CEO: After 15 years at the helm, Tim Cook will officially hand the reins to current SVP of hardware engineering John Ternus on September 1. The first AI-generated feature film is set to debut next month — and will likely set a standard for the industry

Making movies. The world's first studio-quality AI feature film is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Bitcoin: Killing Satoshi stars Gal Gadot, Pete Davidson, and Casey Affleck — and the crowd's reaction could set a new precedent for AI in film.

Human-first, AI-finished. Despite its AI-first billing, Bitcoin still relied heavily on human input and creativity. The film used 154 crew members and 107 actors with real costumes and props, while 55 AI artists handled the sets and post-production editing.

Generating locations. Without AI, Bitcoin may not have been made at all. The original script called for on-site filming at 200 locations, with a projected budget of $300M. With AI, it was possible to capture every scene from one custom-built soundstage over just 20 days. Total cost? $70M.

Unlocking the backlog. AI-assisted production could open the door for films that lack major studio financing. But the practice also raises serious concerns about job displacement. Bitcoin's Cannes reception will signal how audiences and the industry weigh the tradeoffs.
