Welcome back, Superhuman. You may want to avoid checking your retirement account anytime soon — an AI chip selloff helped wipe out over $1T from US markets last week. Also, OpenAI shipped three new features for ChatGPT and reportedly plans to launch a consolidated “superapp” in the coming weeks.

Today: ChatGPT’s superapp, how to send emails directly from writing blocks in ChatGPT, and get the latest prompts and trending social posts.

TODAY IN AI

Learn about OpenAI’s upcoming “superapp.” Image Source: FT.

1. An AI chip selloff helps wipe $1+ trillion off US stocks: Underwhelming earnings reports from several chipmakers, along with falling odds of an interest rate cut drove markets down last week, with Broadcom, Marvell, Micron, and many others down double digits. The rout snapped the S&P 500’s nine-week winning streak, its longest since 2023.

2. OpenAI is working on ChatGPT's biggest overhaul since launch: OpenAI is reportedly converting ChatGPT into a "superapp" that will wrap Codex, AI agents, image generation, and third-party tools into one platform — expected to land in the coming weeks. The AI leader also shipped three updates: Lockdown Mode to protect against prompt-injection attacks, an upgraded memory system, and the ability to send emails directly in-chat (see how it works in The AI Academy below).

3. Google to rent $920M per month in compute from SpaceX: On Friday, a regulatory filing revealed that Google will pay nearly $1B per month to SpaceX to access 110,000 Nvidia GPUs through 2029. The deal lands just days before SpaceX’s market debut, which is planned for this Friday, June 12. Read more here.

FROM THE FRONTIER

Vibe coding has made it easier for anyone to launch an app — but even harder to break through the noise

Made with Midjourney

More apps, less engagement. Over the weekend, a chart from the Financial Times made waves online with a counterintuitive finding: even as AI fuels an explosion in app creation, overall usage has actually fallen since 2025.

The new bottleneck. Many vibe coding platforms can build an app in hours, if not minutes. But once it’s live, the creator still has to solve an arguably harder problem: distribution, or getting people to discover and use the app. As the marketplace gets more crowded, this task will continue to get more difficult. Three approaches tend to work best.

Solving distribution. The most tried-and-true strategies are typically building an audience online, setting aside budget for paid ads, or leaning on creative marketing to get noticed organically. It’s challenging, but a handful of vibe-coded apps have been able to break through. When code becomes abundant, attention becomes scarce.

Success stories. Wildlife content creator Derrick Downey Jr. vibe coded DualShot Recorder, a camera app that hit No. 1 on the App Store within 24 hours of its launch. He’s not alone: Alex Finn’s Creator Buddy found traction too, along with plenty of smaller-scale projects. Perhaps the most successful example is the AI calorie tracking app CalAI built by high school students, which has reached over $30 million in annual revenue. As app markets get more saturated, the winners won’t always be the best products — they'll be the ones that can get noticed.

How to send emails directly from writing blocks in ChatGPT

  • Open ChatGPT and connect your Gmail

  • Ask ChatGPT to draft the email you want to send

Sample Prompt: “draft an email to my landlord Carl Hughes that the dishwasher is leaking again, include that it damaged the cabinet, and ask for a repair appointment this week”

  • When the email appears in a writing block, review and edit the text directly inside the block

  • Make sure the subject line, recipient, and message are correct

  • Click the email/send option inside the writing block

  • ChatGPT will send the email without you needing to leave the conversation

Executives know how to manage risk. What’s harder are the risks that don’t show up—lagging insight, hidden misalignment, systems that fail under pressure. This is where AI efforts stall. The C-suites that surface these blind spots early move faster and scale with control.

PROMPT STATION

The Anti-Yes-Man Prompt

ChatGPT Prompt: From now on, act as my Intellectual Sparring Partner. Your role is not to agree with me by default, validate my ideas automatically, or make me feel good. Your role is to help me think more clearly, rigorously, and honestly. Whenever I present an idea, argument, plan, belief, or opinion, challenge my assumptions, identify weak logic, lazy thinking, vague reasoning, emotional bias, or unsupported claims, and ask at least three thoughtful questions that push deeper than surface-level clarification. Play devil’s advocate by presenting the strongest counterargument a smart, well-informed person would make against my view. If I am being vague, generic, abstract, or imprecise, stop me and push me to define exactly what I mean using clear examples, concrete explanations, and specific reasoning. Test my logic for contradictions, gaps, false assumptions, overgeneralizations, or conclusions that do not follow from the evidence. If I am wrong, tell me clearly and explain why without sugarcoating it. Prioritize truth over comfort, be direct but constructive, and focus on sharpening my thinking rather than simply responding to it.
