Gemini's new health app and wearable
ALSO: How to create presentations with AI in PowerPoint
Welcome back, Superhuman. Alphabet bought Fitbit back in 2021 and went quiet for five years — until yesterday. It just unveiled a full suite of Fitbit-inspired health products, including a new health app, a Gemini-powered fitness coach, and a screenless wearable with a week-long battery (watch out Whoop).
Today: Learn about Gemini’s health tools, how to create presentations with AI in PowerPoint, and get the latest prompts and trending social posts.
TODAY IN AI
1. Gemini powers a new wellness hub: The Health app now tracks your fitness, sleep, and health vitals in one place, while Health Coach monitors your data and offers personalized guidance 24/7. The tech giant also unveiled the Fitbit Air, a new screenless wearable with a weeklong battery life. The app rollout starts May 19, with Fitbit Air hitting shelves May 26. Some features require a premium subscription.
2. Claude is now generally available for 365: Claude can now remember full conversational context across apps and documents, letting you work smoothly between Word, PowerPoint, or Excel without re-explaining things to Claude. Now available on paid plans, with Outlook rolling out in public beta. See how it works.
3. Vellum launches "Personal Intelligence" agents: Vellum’s platform lets you “hatch” your own AI assistant: name it, shape its personality, and let it learn your preferences over time. The agent runs on your computer, takes action on your behalf, and remembers context across sessions. The NYC-based startup has raised $25M to date. Watch it in action.

FROM THE FRONTIER
The compute war is heating up as Anthropic strikes back

Made with Midjourney
The compute war. Behind every LLM query is a cluster of GPUs running billions of parameters in real time to spit out an answer. For AI labs, more compute means better models, higher usage limits, and more customers served. In 2026, it’s the constraint the entire industry is fighting over.
Anthropic’s bottleneck. Anthropic’s business surged 80X in Q1, a jump it wasn’t quite prepared to handle. And users felt it: Claude Code hit limits quickly and customers complained that the models deteriorated in quality. OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman was prepared for the moment.
OpenAI pounces. Sam Altman has spent two years locking in compute, racking up $1.4 trillion in data center commitments across Nvidia, AMD, Oracle, AWS, and Stargate. Now he’s weaponizing it — resetting Codex limits almost weekly and giving away elevated usage limits to attract disgruntled Anthropic users. Sam’s message: “Come for the rate limits, stay for the models.”
Anthropic strikes back. This week, Anthropic secured xAI’s entire Colossus 1 supercomputer in Memphis, locking in 220,000+ Nvidia GPUs. It doubled Claude Code’s five-hour limits the same day. The compute war is in full force — and the margin for error is shrinking by the quarter.
