Welcome back, Superhuman. When the CEO of a $250B+ company says that he’s using AI to write his annual business plans, we should start paying attention. In our exclusive interview with Marc Benioff, Salesforce’s CEO lays out a future that’s arriving faster than we might be ready for — and tells us how he’s using AI at work and beyond.

FROM THE FRONTIER
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff tells us what’s next in AI
AI represents “the biggest, most exciting transformation that any of us has ever gone through.” That’s a bold claim, but if anyone can make it, it’s Marc Benioff, the CEO and co-founder of $250B+ software giant Salesforce.
Here are 5 key things we learned from our conversation:
1. It’s time to start talking about the ‘unlimited age’: We’ve birthed a new species in AI. Tech giants like Microsoft and Meta are already handing around 30% of their coding tasks to AI. Our world could look very different once AI takes command of things like manufacturing and robotics and starts building its own worlds.
2. The AI wave is happening much faster than anything we’ve seen before: That’s because many AI advancements happen out in the open. Researchers actively share their findings, so when a breakthrough like DeepSeek’s R-1 happens, everyone else can take notes, accelerating the rate of progress.
3. Salesforce customers are already benefiting from AI: Thanks to new tools like Agentforce, companies like Singapore Airlines, reMarkable, and OpenTable have been able to deploy their own agents, including customer support agents that can answer questions autonomously to boost their productivity.
4. CEOs need to learn how to work with and manage AIs: When creating business plans, Benioff uses AI to ask things like:
How does this compare to what my competitor is doing?
Give me a letter grade on this idea.
Am I considering all aspects of this market?
As AIs reach human-level capabilities, learning how to manage these digital workers will be an increasingly important skill. Benioff also has all the major AI apps on his phone and uses them for things like search, summarization, and editing.
5. AI still has some knowledge gaps: Benioff has discovered numerous valuable ideas through his conversations with LLMs. But there are still some problems that require a human touch. The next frontier is building AI that can generate truly out-of-the-box ideas on a consistent basis.
PRESENTED BY EIGHT SLEEP
As CEO of this newsletter, I routinely work 60-80 hours a week – which means sleep and recovery are top priorities to maintain my productivity. But despite sleeping 8 hours a night, I was exhausted every morning.
The reason: I was waking up multiple times during the night because of high body temperature. Studies show that adults sleep better when ambient temps range from 20-25°C.
The Pod ensures I maintain this “Goldilocks Zone” every night:
High-tech mattress cover that tracks sleep data throughout the night
Automatically cools or heats each side of the bed to maintain optimal temps
The most advanced version, the Pod 4 Ultra, can even reduce snoring
Get your best night’s sleep with $350 off Pod 4 Ultra and $200 off Pod 4 with code: ‘SUPERHUMANAI’.
TODAY IN AI
1. Mistral drops frontier-level model at 8x lower cost: The Paris-based startup unveiled Mistral Medium 3, which approaches or outperforms Claude Sonnet 3.7 and GPT-4o on multiple benchmarks while costing less than DeepSeek’s v3. Companies can use the model via a new AI assistant called Le Chat Enterprise, which comes packed with an agent builder and full integration with your favorite apps. The startup, which has reportedly tripled its revenue in just the past 100 days, also teased that an even more powerful model is just weeks away.
2. Anthropic brings web search to its API: Developers can now connect their Claude-powered apps and agents to the web, giving them access to real-time information. That might not sound like a big deal, but consider the possibilities: You can now build an agent that analyzes stock prices and market trends to spot daily trends, or create a legal research agent that can surface court documents in real-time.
3. You can try this Operator-like agent right in your browser: Model repository Hugging Face released a tool called Open Computer Agent that, as the name suggests, can scour the web for you. Is it the fastest agent in the world? Probably not (we had to wait in a queue to try it). But all you need is an internet connection to give it a whirl. The retro-inspired interface is a nice touch, too.
