1. Google Labs infuses two experimental AI tools with fresh updates: Mixboard, an AI-powered concepting board, now supports Nano Banana Pro to help you explore ideas and generate presentations. Doppl, a fashion app, lets you create a digital model of yourself from your photos to virtually try on any outfit. Learn more about Doppl and Mixboard. Availability may depend on region.

2. Nvidia gets green light to sell H200 chips to China: Nvidia received approval to sell its second-most-powerful AI chips to China on two conditions: shipments only go to “approved customers,” and the US government receives a 25% share of all sales. Despite this approval, the Chinese government is reportedly limiting access to the chip as it pushes for self-sufficiency in AI hardware.

3. ChatGPT partners with Instacart for in-app shopping: ChatGPT now lets users shop for groceries through Instacart without leaving the chat. Users can browse products, build their cart, and check out directly within ChatGPT. This advancement expands on a long-standing relationship between the two companies.

Nvidia’s dominance. Nvidia's rise has been staggering: from gaming chip producer to $4.5 trillion AI juggernaut in under three years (this chart highlights the staggering revenue growth). The company now controls over 90% of the AI chip market — but its competitors are catching up quickly.

Google just proved it doesn't need Nvidia. Gemini 3 Pro — currently one of the world's best AI models — was trained entirely on Google's in-house tensor processing units (TPUs), not Nvidia GPUs. Better still: TPUs slash inference costs by 50-65% compared to Nvidia’s offering, giving Google a massive cost advantage.

Amazon is close behind. Amazon recently unveiled Trainium3, a chip that's 4x faster and 40% more energy efficient than the previous generation. CEO Andy Jassy revealed that the chip — which competes directly with Nvidia’s — is already a "multi-billion dollar business" with over 1 million units deployed.

The China wildcard. Just as domestic competition intensifies, Nvidia opened a second front: China. President Trump’s green light to sell H200s to China could unlock billions in untapped demand for Nvidia — as long as China's domestic chip ambitions don’t complicate the opportunity.
