šŸ“± Meta launches all-in-one AI app

ALSO: How to create stunning presentations with PageOn AI

Welcome back, Superhuman. Meta just launched a standalone AI app with a twist. It has a feed where you can see all of your friends’ chatbot conversations (if they give permission, at least). And: A controversial new AI study may have fooled thousands of Reddit users and changed their minds without them knowing.

Also, I recently found someone who built a very impressive app without writing a single line of code. So I asked her how she did it and you can watch her build an app live in today’s email.

TODAY IN AI

1. Meta challenges OpenAI with standalone app: The Llama 4-powered platform is easy to talk to with just your voice, and over time, it’ll learn about you and cater to your preferences. Meta is also experimenting with some new ideas, like a ā€œdiscover feedā€ that shows what your friends have been chatting about. Additionally, the social media giant is making it easier for developers to create their own apps via a new API that’s designed to strike a balance between power and flexibility.

2. NotebookLM’s hit podcast feature goes multilingual: The viral tool, which turns any document into an AI-generated conversation, is now available in over 50 languages. Or, if you’re in the mood to learn a new language, Google just rolled out three experimental tools that can help you practice with personalized lessons. Slang Hang helps you talk more like a local, Tiny Lesson teaches you phrases based on specific scenarios, and Word Cam lets you translate objects in your environment.

3. Controversial experiment claims AI can change minds: Around 3.8M Reddit users were the unwitting guinea pigs of an experiment that looked into AI’s ability to persuade humans. University of Zurich researchers admitted they’d used AI bots to secretly post 1,700 comments — including some that touched on subjects like assault and racism. The bots were supposedly able to change readers’ minds at a higher rate than the baseline human — but the study is facing a wave of backlash over how it was conducted.

How to build apps in a day — without writing any code. A conversation with Chatbase’s Sandra Djajic

When the software she needed didn’t exist, Chatbase’s Marketing and Growth Lead, Sandra Djajic, decided to build her own, even though she’s not a developer. She shows us how you can do the same, even when you only have a few minutes.

1. Find a problem that needs fixing: In Djajic’s case, scraping Meta, Google, and LinkedIn for basic data is simple but takes a lot of time. Her goal was to automate the process with an easy-to-use app.

2. Djajic follows these three steps: First, she uses Notion as a notepad to store and organize information and keep track of any changes she makes. She then works with ChatGPT to refine her prompts. Finally, she enters those prompts into the app builder Lovable — and tweaks things from there.

3. If you get stuck, ask AI for help: ChatGPT can turn abstract ideas into tangible prompts. You can even upload screenshots of other apps to steer ChatGPT in the right direction. It can create a plan for overcoming tricky technical challenges, too, like using Make.com to connect third-party apps.

4. Add more features: Once you have your first draft in Lovable, you can share a screenshot with ChatGPT and ask it to generate follow-up prompts for new features — say, adding a calendar to a to-do list app.

5. Don’t wait for the perfect software: Instead, you can bring together the specific features you like from other apps to match your particular workflow. It doesn’t have to be perfect. You can even keep your app private so you can experiment with it internally.
