1. Elon Musk gets approval for $1 trillion Tesla pay package after winning shareholder approval. Investors backed the largest corporate pay package in history, endorsing Musk's vision to transform the automaker into an AI and robotics powerhouse. Musk predicts around 80% of the company’s value will come from future Optimus humanoid robot sales. The announcement comes as the company announced a steep monthly sales decline for its auto business.

2. Google upgrades Deep Research and expands access to its app builder. The Gemini chatbot now connects with Gmail and Drive to draw context and information from your emails, docs, spreadsheets, presentations, and work it directly into your research. 3. Altman clarifies position as OpenAI gets backlash for government backstop comments. CEO Sam Altman said the company will not be seeking a government bailout for its debts. The clarification came as the company tries to walk back comments from its CFO that argued for a federal backstop to help finance the development of AI chips and infrastructure. Trump AI czar David Sacks also said there will be no federal bailouts for AI companies.

What happens when AI can't save the economy anymore?

The AI boom appears to be propping up a wobbly economy. While Big Tech and AI companies are thriving, the rest of the economy is showing serious cracks. Consider some of the following data points:

• Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent recently admitted that "sectors of the economy are in recession," particularly housing and manufacturing.

• Employers also announced 153,000 job cuts last month, marking the worst October for layoffs since 2003.

• Total layoffs for 2025 have now exceeded 1 million, making it only the fifth time this has happened in the last 32 years.

• Meanwhile, mentions of “AI” during S&P 500 earnings calls this quarter have reportedly surpassed 10,000 for the first time in history — the figure has doubled over the last 18 months.

• Despite hundreds of billions being invested in AI infrastructure, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang warned China could win the AI race thanks to lower energy costs and lighter regulation.

BNP Paribas chief economist James Egelhof put it bluntly: "AI has kept the economy out of a recession." The question now isn't whether AI is propping up the economy, it's what happens if the music stops. More turbulence may lie ahead.

How to create and edit video scenes with AI

1. Go to Flow, sign in, and click ‘+ New Project.’

2. From the mode dropdown, switch from ‘Text to Video’ to ‘Ingredients to Video.’

3. Upload your portrait photo and a background image (e.g., your workspace, office, or studio) and enter your prompt.

Sample Prompt: “Using the uploaded images, create a short teaching clip where I point at the screen and say: ‘Here’s how neural networks actually learn step by step.’ Add light background music, floating text for key points, and a fade-in transition.”

4. Once the video is ready, click ‘Edit’ and select any element or background to modify.

5. Click ‘Add to Scene’ > ‘+’ > ‘Extend’ and enter your prompt to edit the video.

6. Review the video, check transitions for smoothness, then click the download icon on the timeline to export your finished clip.
