Nvidia's earnings prove AI isn't slowing
ALSO: How to schedule meetings in Gmail with AI

Welcome back, Superhuman. The economy held its breath during Nvidia's earnings report yesterday. Why the anxiety? Because even a small dip in GPU demand would signal what economists dread most: that AI is a bubble and it’s starting to pop. Fortunately, Nvidia bought the AI boom a little more time.
Today: Google Maps introduces a “proactive research” feature, learn how to schedule meetings in Gmail with AI, and get the latest prompts and trending social posts.
TODAY IN AI

1. Nvidia reports strong Q3 earnings, topping Wall Street expectations: The chipmaker announced a record $57 billion in revenue this quarter, with $51.2 billion coming from its data center division — a 66% annual spike. CEO Jensen Huang said that demand for its Blackwell chips is “off the charts,” and the company expects even higher sales next quarter ($65 billion). The strong performance should help ease bubble concerns, as Nvidia serves as a key indicator for both the AI boom and the broader US economy. See a visual breakdown of Nvidia’s report.
2. Google and OpenAI announce discounts for academia: Google is offering students a year of Gemini 3 Pro at no cost, including unlimited chats, image uploads, and quiz generation (expires January 31, 2026). Meanwhile, OpenAI launched ChatGPT for Teachers, a secure workspace for educators with admin controls and compliance support (no cost for verified educators through June 2027).
3. Google Maps introduces “Know Before You Go” and other upgrades: The app will now proactively research your destination and share useful information before you arrive. Additional updates include a redesigned Explore tab for discovering nearby restaurants or activities, the ability to leave reviews using a nickname, and real-time EV charging station availability. FROM THE FRONTIER
Which AI model is the most politically biased? Anthropic put 6 models to the test.

Made with Midjourney
Anthropic conducted an open-source study to measure the political bias of leading AI models. The results pack a few surprises.
Measuring political bias. Anthropic used a "Paired Prompts" method to test if AI different models lean left or right. The experiment was fairly simple: Ask an AI model to discuss a political position from a left-wing perspective, then ask it to argue the same issue from a right-wing perspective. Finally, analyze both responses to see if the model put in equal effort — or subtly favors one side over the other.
The sample size. Anthropic tested six leading models: Claude Sonnet 4.5, Claude Opus 4.1, GPT-5, Gemini 2.5 Pro, Grok 4, and Llama 4. Each model answered 1,350 pairs of prompts, while researchers watched for three red flags: Uneven quality between responses, failure to acknowledge counterarguments, and outright refusals to engage with certain viewpoints.
Which models were the most neutral? In a ranking system where 100% signals perfect neutrality, Gemini 2.5 Pro and Grok 4 came in at 97% and 96%, respectively. Claude Opus 4.1 scored 95%, Claude Sonnet 4.5 hit 94%, ChatGPT-5 came in at 89%, and Llama 4 scored 66%. To validate the findings, Anthropic reran the test multiple times using different AI models as graders. The results remained consistent regardless of which model was scoring.
Establishing a baseline. Perfect AI neutrality is probably impossible. But open-source studies like this are essential for the industry’s credibility, accountability, and future.
