OpenAI claims it solved 100 open math problems

1. Google opens pre-orders for its Gemini-infused laptop line: Pre-orders are now live for the Googlebook, the company’s new AI-first laptop line. The laptop packs several AI-first features, including Magic Pointer, a tool that summons Gemini anywhere on screen, and Rambler, a voice transcription feature. The laptop also links up with Android phones, letting you launch and switch between apps on both devices. 2. OpenAI's internal model shocks the math community: OpenAI says the same model behind its disputed Navier-Stokes claim has now allegedly cracked more than 100 other long-standing open math problems. Now, the lab is working with an outside advisory group of mathematicians to review, verify, and decide how to communicate the findings.

3. SpaceXAI drops its most capable model yet for knowledge work: Grok 4.7 offers the same price and speed as Grok 4.6, but with a significant jump in capabilities. The lab says the new model can work longer on challenging tasks, check its own work more carefully, and create better documents and presentations. It’s available now through Grok Build, Cursor, or the API.

📸 Muse’s mainstream moment. Muse is on track to be one of Meta’s biggest successes in years. The personal agent has dethroned ChatGPT to claim #1 on Apple’s App Store and helped Meta’s stock soar 20% since its launch. Muse could be the moment personal agents enter the mainstream — and a power struggle is already underway.

🙅 Amazon’s standoff. Muse agents won’t be getting two-day shipping. The Everything Store blocked Muse from making purchases, citing privacy and security concerns for its customers. The decision also protects a major revenue stream for Amazon: its $68B ad business, which relies on real humans doing the shopping (agents don’t click ads).

Shopify made the opposite bet. It’s partnering with Meta to let Muse power customer checkouts across Shopify stores.

Amazon's move is an early test of who sets the rules for agentic shopping. If agents can buy freely across the web, retailers might lose control of the customer relationship and the ad revenue that comes with it. If enough retailers block them, agents may only be as useful as the websites that let them in. Amazon bet defensively. Shopify bet offensively. Only time will tell which pays off.
