1. PrismML reveals the largest-ever AI model to run on an iPhone: The AI lab PrismML released Bonsai 27B, a compressed version of Alibaba’s open-source Qwen3.6 27B that it shrunk from 54GB to under 4GB — capable of running on an iPhone 17 Pro or newer. PrismML CEO Babak Hassibi told CNBC that Apple is evaluating the technology, though it’s unclear where that will lead. Still, it’s a notable step toward running capable AI models directly on personal devices. Check out a demo.

2. IBM CEO says the AI infrastructure buildout is hurting sales: IBM’s stock just had its worst day on record, dropping 25% after the company warned that clients are shifting spending toward AI hardware like servers, storage, and memory. CEO Arvind Krishna told investors "We did not anticipate the magnitude of the capex reprioritization.” The selloff rippled across the sector, dragging down Oracle, Salesforce, and ServiceNow as well.

3. Weco AI claims first experimental evidence of recursive self-improvement: AI lab Weco AI published results from AIDE², a system that spent eight unattended days rewriting its own code, creating an agent that outperformed Weco’s own hand-tuned agent that it spent two years refining. The lab frames it as the first experimental evidence of an AI system improving its own capabilities autonomously. Read the full blog post.

FROM THE FRONTIER

Google DeepMind’s CEO says we’re at a pivotal moment in human history — and outlined a plan to navigate it

The viral essay. Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis doesn’t post often — so when he does, the internet pays attention. In a new essay, A Framework for Frontier AI and the Dawning of a New Age, he argues that we’re standing at “the foothills of the singularity” and believes our decisions over the coming months will determine the next phase of civilization.

Navigating AGI. The essay hinges on the pending arrival of artificial general intelligence (AGI), or an AI system that rivals the human brain. Hassabis argues this breakthrough (if it materializes) would rival the invention of fire or electricity. He says it could usher in “unprecedented” positive change, but admits urgent action is needed.

Hassabis’ plan. The Nobel laureate wants to establish a self-regulating Standards Body modeled after FINRA — the private-industry watchdog that polices Wall Street. The goal: work alongside private labs and federal agencies to track AI’s rapid progress and mitigate risk without stifling innovation. Specifically, vetting new models before their public release.

The timeline. Hassabis believes AGI is “probably” only a few years away and wants to get an organization in place by the end of the year. That said, AGI remains a hypothetical milestone. No lab has achieved it, and timelines like Hassabis’ are still predictions, not certainties.

How to turn ChatGPT into your inbox assistant

  • Go to ChatGPT and switch to the ‘Work’ tab at the top of your screen

  • Click on Plugins > Connect Plugins > Browse all plugins > search for ‘Gmail’ > Install

  • Optionally, connect Slack and Google Drive so ChatGPT can find missing project details, files, decisions, or updates

  • Once connected, use the plugins with the prompt below

Sample Prompt: Can you check my @gmail, figure out what I need to respond to, and write drafts in my voice. Use my recent sent replies or @google-drive [writing examples] for tone. Use @slack, @google-drive, or other sources where my work happens when the email is missing the latest decision, owner, file, or blocker.

  • ChatGPT will review your inbox, identify important messages, and create reply drafts for you

  • Review the drafts and tell ChatGPT which emails to prioritize, ignore, or handle differently next time

  • Once the drafts are useful, ask ChatGPT to schedule recurring inbox check at a specific time

Cover Letter Generator

ChatGPT Prompt: Act as an expert career coach and professional cover letter writer. Using my resume and the job description below, write a tailored cover letter that clearly connects my experience, achievements, and skills to the role and company. First, analyze the job description to identify the most important responsibilities, required skills, qualifications, company priorities, and relevant keywords. Then review my resume and select the strongest and most relevant experience, measurable achievements, projects, leadership examples, and skills. Write a persuasive, professional, and natural cover letter that opens with a strong introduction, clearly states the role I am applying for, explains why I am interested in the company, and connects my background directly to the position. Include two or three specific achievements from my resume and use measurable results where available. Show how I can contribute to the company, match the tone and language of the job description, and end with a confident call to action. Avoid generic phrases, clichés, exaggerated claims, unnecessary repetition, and invented information. Do not simply summarize my resume. Keep the letter between 300 and 450 words, use short readable paragraphs, and include a professional greeting and sign-off. If any important detail is missing, use a clear placeholder in brackets instead of making it up. Before the cover letter, briefly list the three most important requirements from the job description and the three strongest points from my resume to emphasize. My name: [INSERT NAME]. Company name: [INSERT COMPANY]. Role: [INSERT JOB TITLE]. Hiring manager’s name, if known: [INSERT NAME]. Resume: [PASTE RESUME]. Job description: [PASTE JOB DESCRIPTION]. Optional company information: [PASTE COMPANY WEBSITE, MISSION, VALUES, OR OTHER RELEVANT DETAILS].

Travel-art illustration

ChatGPT Image 2.0: Create a highly detailed, premium travel-art illustration featuring a hand holding a [CITY-SPECIFIC TICKET/PASS] in the foreground. The ticket acts as a portal to [CITY NAME], with a realistic miniature city scene emerging from the ticket.
A signature transportation element ([CITY VEHICLE]) breaks out of the ticket frame in 3D perspective, extending toward the viewer. Behind the ticket, one iconic landmark ([HERO LANDMARK]) rises prominently and realistically, becoming the main architectural focal point.
Surrounding the scene are only 3–4 clean hand-drawn doodle elements representing the city's identity, such as district names, local symbols, or famous locations. Use minimal doodles, lots of negative space, and avoid clutter.
Include tiny realistic people interacting with the scene, such as commuters, tourists, street vendors, cyclists, or photographers, scaled appropriately to create a miniature-world effect.
Style: photorealistic travel photography combined with elegant black-ink sketchbook doodles. Clean composition, premium editorial design, soft warm lighting, shallow depth of field, realistic textures, subtle shadows, Instagram-worthy travel artwork.
Composition hierarchy:
1. Emerging vehicle
2. Hero landmark
3. Ticket/pass
4. Minimal doodle elements
Avoid: crowded layouts, excessive text, too many landmarks, busy backgrounds, duplicated symbols, excessive arrows, stickers, or decorative icons.
Aspect ratio: 1:1 square.
Quality: ultra-detailed, cinematic, sharp focus, professional travel poster aesthetic.
