Welcome back, Superhuman. A new startup claims that its AI marketing agent can help one person outperform a team of ten. The tool isn’t officially available yet, but that didn’t stop the release video from racking up over 3M views and causing some outrage: X’s head of product said, “I will do everything in my power to end your company.“

1. OpenAI launches $8/month ChatGPT Go tier, confirms ads are coming: The AI giant just rolled out ChatGPT Go globally — a low-cost plan offering 10x more messages, file uploads, and image creation than the free tier, plus access to GPT-5.2 Instant and longer memory. The catch: OpenAI will begin testing ads in both the Free and Go tiers for U.S. users in the coming weeks. OpenAI insists query responses won't be influenced by advertisers and released an example of what ads might look like.

2. Astral announces an AI agent it claims can “do a marketer’s work in minutes”: Astral, a startup that just secured a $1.2M pre-seed funding round, unveiled a new AI tool that it claims can browse, click, and post across different channels just like a human would, assisting marketers with everything from content creation to campaign execution. The launch video on X received over 3 million views. Request early access here.

3. Elon Musk seeks up to $134 billion from OpenAI and Microsoft: A new court document revealed that Elon is seeking “wrongful gains” from his early support to OpenAI, which includes providing $38 million in seed funding (roughly 60% of the nonprofit's initial capital). His expert witness calculated that OpenAI owes $65-$109 billion and Microsoft owes $13-$25 billion. OpenAI called the demand "unserious" and part of Musk's "harassment campaign.” A federal judge ruled earlier this month that the case will go to trial in late April.

FROM THE FRONTIER

Wikipedia’s revenge — from unreliable internet encyclopedia to AI's backbone

Made with Midjourney

The non-credible source. For decades, the message has been clear: Wikipedia is not a credible source of information. When generative AI arrived, Wikipedia seemed destined to become its first victim — why spend 10 minutes reading an “unverified” article when ChatGPT answers in seconds? There was just one problem.

AI relies on Wikipedia. Nearly every major LLM was at least partially trained on Wikipedia. As of June 2025, it was the single most-cited source in ChatGPT responses — appearing in up to 48% of the chatbot's top 10 citations. Chatbots might answer faster, but those answers are often still sourced from Wikipedia.

The overdue payday. Wikimedia just announced paid licensing deals with several leading AI companies, including Microsoft, Mistral AI, and Perplexity. These companies now pay for high-throughput API access to Wikipedia's 65 million articles across 300 languages. Tim Frank, a Microsoft VP, said, “Access to high‑quality, trustworthy information is at the heart of how we think about the future of AI at Microsoft.”

It’s a remarkable turnaround. With last week’s announcement, Wikipedia reminded the world that human-curated knowledge still matters — while also turning a business threat into a revenue stream.
