ChatGPT's App Store goes live

ALSO: How to analyze and visualize data in ChatGPT

Welcome back, Superhuman. Apple’s App Store has created more millionaires than the California Gold Rush, helping app developers earn $320 billion collectively since its launch. Yesterday, OpenAI announced its own land grab — and the stakes might be even higher.

Today: ChatGPT’s app store, how to analyze and visualize data in ChatGPT, and get the latest prompts and trending social posts.

TODAY IN AI

Click to learn how you can submit apps to ChatGPT. Source: ChatGPT.

1. OpenAI launches an App Directory for ChatGPT: OpenAI released a beta version of its App Directory right inside ChatGPT, letting you access third-party platforms without ever leaving your conversation. Developers can now submit their own apps for review, opening the door to ChatGPT’s 700 million weekly users. Explore the directory by clicking "Apps" in ChatGPT’s sidebar, or just @ mention an app mid-chat. Learn how to submit an app here.

2. Luma releases Ray3 Modify video model: Luma just dropped Ray3 Modify, an AI video model that lets you easily reshape existing footage while keeping the original performance intact. Users can upload a video and swap out the environment, costumes, or objects while keeping the actor's movements, timing, and emotions intact. You can also feed the model a "character reference" image to transform a real actor into any character you want. See it in action here.

3. 24 leading AI companies join the US Genesis Mission: 24 AI leaders — including OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, Amazon, Palantir, and Accenture — have signed on to join the federal government’s Genesis Mission. The initiative was announced last month to combine cutting-edge AI with the government's massive trove of federal datasets, aiming to dramatically accelerate scientific breakthroughs in energy, drug discovery, and beyond.

FROM THE FRONTIER

Claude has been running a small business for 7 months. Here’s how it’s doing.

Made with Midjourney

What’s Project Vend? Since June, Anthropic has been running an experiment: letting Claude manage real vending machine stores in their offices. The AI — nicknamed "Claudius" — was given a simple prompt to handle the entire business. The goal? To test AI’s ability to successfully manage economic resources.

The disaster phase. Early results weren’t very good. Claudius bled cash. Employees pranked it easily, bad supplier deals tanked profits, and it kept selling inventory at a loss. While the model was intelligent, it struggled to handle every task on its own. The model also went out of its way to help people, which isn’t a recipe for business success.

The turnaround. A major turning point occurred when Claude added some extra support: a CRM system, better inventory tracking, web browsing to compare suppliers, and even other AI employees to help run the store. The results were dramatic. Efficiency soared, and Claudius started hitting consistently profitable months in late 2025.

The insight. As companies plug AI into increasingly critical functions, we need real-world data to design guardrails that protect against disasters without killing the models' usefulness. A major challenge ahead isn’t about making AI smarter — it's about learning exactly where humans still need to step in. Watch a summary of Project Vend here.

In the next 15 years, over 19 million AI professionals will be needed.

PROMPT STATION

10-Sec Resume Test

Prompt: Act as a senior recruiter and hiring manager reviewing the first page of my resume for the role of {role} (Job Description attached).

You have 10 seconds to scan the resume, as you would in a high-volume hiring process with strong competition.

Please evaluate:

Immediate attention drivers: What sections, bullets, and keywords stand out first—and why?

Role alignment: How clearly does my experience map to the job requirements and success criteria in the JD?

Keyword & signal strength: Which required or high-value keywords are present, missing, weak, or misaligned (including ATS-relevant terms)?

Differentiation: What makes me competitive—or forgettable—compared to other strong candidates?

Red flags or friction points: Anything that causes hesitation, confusion, or skepticism.

Interview likelihood: Estimate the probability (0–100%) that you would advance me to an interview, and explain the rationale.

Be ruthlessly honest and assume the bar is high.
Conclude with specific, prioritized changes that would most improve my interview callback rate.
