Moonshot AI releases Kimi K2.5, an open-source model that rivals ChatGPT-5.2, Claude Opus 4.5, and others: Chinese AI startup Moonshot AI released Kimi K2.5, a natively multimodal model that matches or beats leading proprietary models across coding and video reasoning benchmarks, according to Moonshot's own benchmarks. One standout feature is Agent Swarm, which lets the model coordinate up to 100 parallel sub-agents across 1,500+ tool calls — cutting execution time by up to 80%. 2. OpenAI launches Prism, a free AI workspace for deeper research: OpenAI released Prism, a GPT-5.2-powered LaTeX editor designed to accelerate scientific research. The free tool (available to all ChatGPT users) lets researchers draft papers, manage citations, summarize literature, and convert whiteboard photos into formatted equations and diagrams. Yahoo launches Scout, an AI answer engine powered by Anthropic's Claude: Yahoo debuted Scout, a free AI-powered search tool that blends traditional web results with conversational AI responses by prominently linking to source information — positioning it as a more web-friendly AI experience. The engine is powered by Anthropic's Claude, Bing's open web APIs, and Yahoo's own knowledge graph (spanning 1 billion entities and 500 million user profiles). Scout is rolling out now. Try it here.

Dario Amodei's 19,000-word warning. Anthropic’s CEO published "The Adolescence of Technology" this week, a follow-up to his 2024 essay Machines of Loving Grace. He argues that AI going rogue is certainly a major risk. But there’s a threat that deserves even more attention — humans using AI against other humans.

AI’s many risks. Amodei warns that AI could amplify destruction if it falls into the wrong hands — like enabling global totalitarian dictatorships or teaching ordinary people how to build bioweapons. He even thinks AI companies pose a risk, pointing out that they could wield their chatbots to "brainwash" users.

His proposed solutions. Amodei offers several solutions: transparency laws, export controls on advanced chips, mandatory disclosures about model behavior, and regulation that buys time without freezing progress. He also pledges that all Anthropic co-founders will donate 80% of their wealth to address AI-driven economic disruption.

But the messenger complicates the message. Critics have pointed out the irony: Amodei warns about both the potential power and danger of AI while also…leading an AI company. Whether the essay reflects genuine alarm, strategic positioning, or both is a question readers will have to answer for themselves. Read it here.
