1. Nvidia posts record-breaking Q2 revenue as AI demand soars: The company’s data center business reported quarterly revenue of $46.7B — a 56% increase year-over-year. Net income also rose to $26.4B. However, future growth may face headwinds as China moves to reduce reliance on Nvidia hardware. Markets responded cautiously, with shares dipping slightly after results were announced.

2. Google rolls out video editing tool with new AI features: Vids now lets users bring their images to life with AI avatars that speak naturally, creating polished videos without having to record live. The move will boost chip supply from companies like Cambricon and Biren, whose profits and market values have surged this year.

AI shopping assistants are winning over skeptics

Consumers are beginning to trust AI with their shopping carts. According to a new study, nearly 32% of shoppers have either used or are open to using generative AI for purchases. Leading the charge are bridge millennials (38%), closely followed by zillennials (36%) and millennials (35%).

Comfort is growing, despite concerns. Reluctance to use AI at checkouts has dropped sharply from 66% to 32% in just six months, according to market automation platform Omnisend. However, 85% of consumers remain concerned about privacy.

Tech giants are beginning to take notice. Amazon’s ‘Buy for Me’ feature allows users to shop from external websites within its platform. Payment platforms like PayPal, Visa, and Mastercard are rolling out AI-powered checkouts to speed up transactions.
