1. OpenAI’s latest offerings pack a serious punch: The ChatGPT maker just dropped two open-source models: the gpt-oss-120b, which can run on a single GPU, and a lighter 20b version that can run locally on high-end consumer laptops. The 120b version is close in performance to OpenAI’s o3 and o4-mini models across multiple benchmarks — all for a tiny fraction of the cost. The model is also a great option for safety-sensitive enterprises looking for an alternative to Chinese open-source models.

2. Anthropic launches a powerful new coding upgrade: The company just rolled out Claude Opus 4.1, an incremental upgrade to its Claude Opus 4 model that boosts the chatbot’s ability to tackle multi-file code refactoring and pinpoint exact corrections in large codebases without introducing new bugs. It hits an industry-leading 74.5% on the SWE-bench Verified benchmark.

3. ElevenLabs’ new model lets you generate commercial-ready music: As competitors like Suno and Udio battle hefty lawsuits filed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), ElevenLabs just launched a new music generation tool that it claims won’t give users a legal headache. The company has inked licensing agreements with Merlin Network and Kobalt Music Group, which gives it access to their catalogs. However, artists still have to opt-in by choice for their music to be licensed for AI use.

DeepMind’s new world model lets you "see the AGI"

Google DeepMind just released Genie 3, a new foundation world model that lets users generate a world simulation they can interact with in real time. It’s caused a stir on socials, with some of the best examples racking up thousands of likes.

It blows its predecessor out of the water. While Genie 2 could only produce short 10-20 second simulations, Genie 3 can whip out several minutes of interactive 3D environments at 720p resolution and 24 frames per second. It can also work through "promptable world events" that change generated worlds on the fly based on simple text commands. Here’s a side-by-side comparison.

A watershed moment for world models: What sets Genie 3 apart is its physical consistency over time. — a capability that researchers claim they didn't explicitly program. The model's auto-regressive nature means that it teaches itself how the world works by remembering what it generated before. This memory-driven approach gives Genie 3 an intuitive grasp of physical reality. Check out this example of the model nailing a hyper-realistic understanding of puddles of water.

Why this matters: OpenAI researcher Steven Heidel has dubbed it a real “see the AGI" moment. Genie 3 could potentially disrupt the way we train AI agents, helping them plan, explore, and improve through trial and error — the kind of embodied learning that humans rely on. Elon Musk said that it represents the "future of video games.”

How to Build an Interactive App with Claude Artifacts

  • Go to Claude and log in to your account

  • Enter your prompt to create an Artifact and press Enter

Sample Prompt: I want to build a mini app called "Smart CSV Analyzer." When a user uploads a CSV file, the app should first display the first 5 rows of the dataset. Then, it should automatically summarize key insights from the data, such as column types, missing values, and any obvious trends (e.g., top categories, totals, averages). Next, it should generate relevant visualizations, such as bar charts, line graphs, or histograms, based on the dataset's structure. Finally, the app should allow the user to ask custom questions about the dataset in natural language and respond with both text and visual answers when possible, all inside an interactive Claude Artifact.

  • Claude will generate an interactive artifact app.

  • In the artifact panel, click 📎 and select your .csv file. Claude will instantly begin analyzing it based on your prompt.

  • Ask Claude to revise the artifact: “Now export this as a markdown file.”

  • You can upload PDFs, images, code files, and more to AI-powered apps that work with your data.
