1. OpenAI introduces “character cameos” for Sora: Now you can create and reuse animated avatars in videos — from pets in your camera roll to imagined characters. Canva rolls out its revamped “Creative Operating System”: Canva’s redesigned platform features an enhanced visual suite, faster video editing capabilities, data collection for Canva Forms, and a new Canva Grow marketing platform – powered by Canva’s new AI model: Canva Design Model. 3. OpenAI eyes IPO to fund expansion plans: OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar has indicated that the company is targeting a 2027 listing, aiming for a valuation of $1 trillion. The fresh capital could help OpenAI fund its expansion plans, including its $500B Stargate project. The update comes on the heels of OpenAI's recent corporate restructuring, which reduced its reliance on Microsoft and removed barriers to raising capital.

AI usage is now mainstream. A Wharton study says this is how companies are using AI:

The AI experimentation phase is over, and the companies falling behind are likely making a key mistake.

AI usage has gone mainstream. Three years ago, most companies were experimenting with AI while they waited to see if the hype was real. That phase is over. A three-year Wharton study reveals an inflection point: Weekly AI usage has jumped from 37% in 2023 to 82% today.

How are companies using AI? AI is most popular for day-to-day tasks that support employee productivity. Think: Data analysis (73%), document/meeting summarization (70%), and writing/editing (68%). For decision makers, the investment in AI tools has largely been worth it, with 75% of leaders reporting a positive ROI on AI spend.

Stefano Puntoni, a professor of marketing at Wharton, says, “The challenge isn’t replacement, it’s readiness.
